Shopping at Prudential Center and Faneuil Hall Marketplace

What is there to do when we are all done with touring all the historical and cultural spots in Boston? Is it time to head home? Are we done with exploring Boston? No, this is not how we end the charter bus Boston trip. The one other thing that Bostonians are proud of is - the sheer number of shopping malls. Sometimes, we think that shopping in Boston and Cambridge is an event on its own. Upscale boutiques, eccentric malls, quaint retail outlets, clothing stores along Newbury Street, Copley Place and of course, we can’t leave out mentioning the awesome shops at Prudential Center in Back Bay. We think you are going to have just as amazing time at Harvard Square and Kittery Outlets as well. Just mentioning them is making our wallets itch a little, admittedly.

The shops at Prudential Center is a great place to start mainly because it is right smack in the middle of everything. Whatever it is you are looking for, you will find it here, we are quite sure about that. We love the unique shops including something like Vineyard Vines. All under one roof, you can spend quite literally the whole day at the mall doing from clothing store to electronics, computers, restaurants, food, burger and then end it all with a round of drinks at one of the bars. Quite literally, you have a world of consumerism under one roof. And the great thing is that you can’t get lost around here and if you are not using a charter bus Boston vehicle to get here, the strip of malls is located near subway stations and bus stops. Easy to get in and out.

Everyone knows that Boston’s got one of the most gorgeous and historical waterfront in the whole of America....and what better place to hit when you are in need of retail therapy than Faneuil Hall Marketplace. What is different about shopping at Prudential Center is that you get all the right brand names under one roof. The feeling is elite and exclusive. At Faneuil, the atmosphere is swung in the opposite direction. Wide open spaces, friendly people, breath-taking waterfront and 19th Century building - The Cradle of Liberty, the building has been called since it was constructed in 1742. There is a sense of festivity here, all year round as more than seventy retailers make their way doing business, shoppers have the more than two hundred thousand square feet of space to relax, do some slow shopping and ending it at sundown at the waterfront.

Where Blue Man Rules

If you and your friends are looking for something different over this weekend, making a trip in a Boston charter bus to watch the Blue Man Group at Charles Playhouse in Boston would be an excellent idea. Charles Playhouse is owned and operated by Broadway and it has been the home for the Blue Man Group since 1995, which means that they totally fit right in to be performing there for so long already and from the many reviews that we have read and heard of, they are really that good too. They do have shows in other cities too, but if you are in Boston this weekend and want to do something different in the evening, this is the place to go.

What Blue Man Group does is that they put music, technology and comedy to come up with a different and unique form of entertainment that you will not be able to put in into any kind of category. You can say that it is techno, yet it’s funky, with a little hip hop and madness. There have been many great comments from Boston charter bus visitors whenever they come here for the fabulous entertainment by the Blue Man Group. It is not surprising at all for the bus driver to see the passengers come out with smiles and laughter as they climb aboard the bus to go home and hear them rave about how great the performance was.

Sometimes, if not most of the time, what makes a show great also depends very much on the participation from the crowd. With the Blue Man Group, it is no different too. At times when the crowd is not so responsive or “cold”, one would think that the performance was a bad one. The best way to approach watching the Blue Man Group would be to go there with no expectation whatsoever yet you get yourself mentally prepared to be thrilled with their performance. But if you like fast paced, loud music and colorful lights with perfect percussion, this is one show you and your friends would not want to miss out. You and your friends can also opt to dine somewhere nearby before you have the Boston charter bus driver send all of you to the location for your night of great entertainment and fun. In fact, after the show, you and your friends can always go for some drinks before you head home. That is the privilege of having the service of a Boston charter bus company.

Old North Church, Boston

One if by land, two if by sea – this is a famous quote that many would know and if you have never been to the Old North Church in Boston, you should really make time to do so. And since you would want to bring your family along with you on this trip, it would be a fantastic idea to charter a Boston bus to bring everyone there.

When planning a visit to the Old North Church in a chartered Boston bus, you need to know that there are two different types of tours that are available for visitors. One of it is the “Freedom Trail Drop-In” and just as the name suggests, visitors are welcome to “drop in” during their regular visiting hours and explore the Old North Church and reservations are not required for this tour. You will get to enjoy a short presentation by the staff on duty on the history of the church as well as the role that the Old North Church played in the American Revolution and view the historical exhibits.

The other kind of tour that is available for visitors is the “Behind the Scenes Tour” which we would suggest that you should take up. Upon arriving at the grounds of the Old North Church in your Boston chartered bus, you will be taken for a thirty minute guided tour with access to two areas of the church that is only available with this tour – the Bell Ringing Chamber and The Crypt. The Bell Ringing Chamber is where Paul Revere (in his teenage years) worked as a bell ringer in the church. In its 270 year old of history, the structure of the steeple has twice been damaged by hurricanes. While you are there in the steeple, you can also talk to the current bell ringers (if they happen to be there during the tour) about their work and experience. After the visit to the Bell Ringing Chamber, you will then move on to check out The Crypt, which keeps 37 tombs that’s been constructed below the floors of the Old North Church and inside you will be able to see the artifacts and listen to the history from your tour guide on those who are buried in there. After the guided tour, you can still walk around the Old North Church on your own and enjoy the beautiful and serene surroundings – they have a beautiful 18th century-themed garden for the enjoyment of visitors.

Before you leave the Old North Church in the Boston chartered bus, you can always drop by the Old North Church Museum and Gift Shop that’s also known as the St. Francis of Assisi Garden, which was built back then to accommodate the Italian immigrants who was part of the Waldensian Reform movement.

A Romantic Dinner Date On High Above the Skywalk Observatory

How would you like to experience dinner close to the stars in the sky? Well, we are not talking about an open field picnic type of dinner – what we are really trying to suggest is booking a dinner on the 52nd floor of the Skywalk Observatory and bringing your date for a romantic dinner atop one of the highest building in Boston and don’t forget to charter a bus to take you and your date to the lovely restaurant too!

As the one and only observatory in New England, the Skywalk Observatory is located on the 50th of the Prudential Center and the Top of the Hub restaurant is located on the 52nd floor. When you arrive at the Prudential Center in your Boston chartered bus, do remember to let your Boston chartered bus driver know what time to pick you up – you may want to spend at least a couple of hours visiting the Skywalk Observatory before you go up higher for dinner with your date.

The Skywalk Observatory provides an almost eagle’s eye view of Greater Boston and beyond. It is open daily but if you wish to have dinner at the Top of the Hub restaurant, you will need to make prior reservations, so be sure to do so before you make your way there to avoid disappointment. This is due to the reason that the restaurant is sometimes booked for Boston charter bus private functions and will not serve walk in guests during such times.

Other than giving guests a sky-high viewpoint of the city, the Skywalk Observatory is also a place for special events such as weddings, cocktail receptions and corporate gala dinners. While the Top of the Hub restaurant can only cater to about a maximum of sixty guests at any one time, the Skywalk Observatory can cater up to six hundred guests for a sit down dinner or up to a thousand people for cocktail parties.

As mentioned earlier, the Skywalk Observatory is open daily, and from now until October 31, it is open from 10am till 10pm with the last elevator leaving at 9.30pm, while in the winter, they are open only from 10am till 8pm daily. Give yourself at least a couple of hours to enjoy the bus charter Boston tour around the observatory and enjoy the beautiful sky high view before proceeding to dinner, so that you do not have to rush through your tour or rush through dinner in order to get back on your waiting chartered bus to go home.

A fine time in Boston on a Charter Bus

Boston ranks as a center of culture, entertainment, fine dining and shopping, as well as a hub for nightlife. The theater district pulses with nationally renown as well as local entertainment. Boston's museums offer cultural and scientific experiences, and you'll find outdoor events and adventures in abundance in Massachusetts' largest city and capital. Discover Boston with a bus, coach bus, party bus, mini bus, passenger coach or school bus chartered from Bus Charter Boston, and have a fine time in this historic city.

The New England Aquarium sits on the water's edge at Boston Harbor and offers Boston charter bus visitors nearly an entire day's worth of excitement and intrigue. Featuring three floors of tanks exhibiting tropical fish, sea turtles, sharks and other sea life, the museum also offers a touch tank. The puffin exhibit amuses visitors of all ages, and the sea lion show, held a few times daily, will make you laugh. Educational and entertaining, you can also eat there and peruse the ample gift shop for trinkets to bring home. If you stay at the aquarium until evening, you can take a ride on one of Boston Duck Tours amphibious vehicles. The 55-minute evening tours leave the aquarium and take in 22 attractions throughout the city. The tour guides are entertaining and the ride itself is a blast that culminates with a giant splash into the Charles River, affording charter bus passengers beautiful views of both the Boston and Cambridge night skylines.

If you enjoy upscale shopping, good food and eclectic entertainment, then a few hours spent at Boston's Faneuil Hall Marketplace is for you. A collection of five buildings on a brick and stone plaza give the place the Colonial look that characterizes Boston. Outside you'll enjoy occasional musicians, street dancers, magicians and balloon artists. Charter bus diners can enjoy some fresh shucked oysters on the half shell or some authentic New England clam chowder. If you like history, you'll want to walk Boston's Freedom Trail that recounts about two-and-a-half-centuries' worth of Boston and United States history. Guided and self-guided walking tours are available, as well as trolley tours. Sixteen historical sites make the list on this tour, which takes between two and three hours.

The Museum of Fine Art in Boston, considered by charter bus visitors to be one of the world's great art museums, boasts an incredible exhibit of Impressionist paintings that includes one of the largest collection of painting by Monet outside of Paris. In addition, the museum features medieval sculptures, tapestries, Asian and Old Kingdom Egyptian collections, classical art and Buddhist Temple art. Boston's Museum of Science makes learning so much fun, you'll lose sight of the fact that the 500 or so exhibits have educational value. In addition to the exhibits, the museum features a state-of-the-art planetarium and an IMAX theater. Tickets for the theater and planetarium require separate admission from the exhibits, but the museum does offer ticket packages for charter bus groups.

Golfing in Boston

Golfing in Boston, Massachusetts is great in the spring and summer, and a good way to visit the various golf courses in and around Boston is with a charter bus, coach bus, party bus, mini bus, passenger coaches or school bus chartered from Bus Charter Boston. Travel around in style and comfort as you and your golfing buddies pit yourselves against the challenges of Boston's best golf courses.
Head down to the Dorchester with your charter bus group and play a round at the William Devine Golf Course At Franklin Park. This par 72 course plays 6,609 yards long. This Donald J. Ross designed course has a course rating of 72.1 and a slope rating of 120 on Bent grass.
One of Boston’s older courses, built back in 1933, Mount Hood Golf Course is a rolling hilly course that follows the topography closely. Known for it’s wide, open fairways and old school small greens, This course gives charter bus golfers great views of Boston and New Hampshire from 8 of its 18 dramatically elevated tees.
A short charter bus ride away from Boston is The Country Club in Chestnut Hill. Located on 236 acres of land just a few miles from the center of Boston, The Country Club started as an equestrian and social club in 1882. In 1893, golf was introduced at the Country Club, and soon lead to the club hosting 15 USGA competitions. The Country Club also includes other sports and activities such as tennis, shooting, squash, and swimming. In winter, curling and skating are available.
Designed on rolling terrain, the Winchester Country Club features generous fairways and medium-sized greens. The hilly fairways will cause uneven lies for approach shots, and the well-mounded greens will test your putting. Designed by Donald Ross, this course has become a classic, and charter bus golfers will have to work on their long game at the par 5’s to take advantage of it.
Though initially developed in the late 17th century, the Brae Burn Country Club course was redesigned by legendary course architect Donald Ross early in the 18th century, and it remains a classic championship course today. The layout of the course is a delight, challenging charter bus golfers with relatively narrow fairways, a handful of water hazards, and oversized greens. The impressive list of events hosted here includes the U.S. Open and U.S. Amateur.
The 18-hole Newton Commonwealth Golf Course in Newton is more than 100 years old. Timely upgrades keep this public course in top condition for charter bus golfers. Take private or group lessons to improve your game or learn the basics. The snack bar provides burgers, chicken strips and general concessions.

Fresh from the sea

Boston has a long maritime tradition, and this New England city has always had a special connection to the sea, from the days of the whaling boats. A good way to see the city of Boston is with a charter bus, coach bus, party bus, mini bus, passenger coaches or school bus chartered from Bus Charter Boston. Travel around the city in style and comfort as your charter bus driver takes care of the driving duties.
There is a possibly nothing worse than walking into a seafood restaurant and finding out that the fresh seafood you were promised isn’t fresh. The very best seafood is never frozen at all, and should be prepared in such a way that the flavors are emphasized, not overwhelmed. Get off your charter bus at the No Name Restaurant at Fish Pier Street. There is absolutely nothing fancy about this seafood shack, where service is perfunctory and you will be sharing tables with strangers, but locals and tourists alike keep coming back for its ultra fresh salmon, lobster and sole. If you’re in a charter bus group, the seafood platter of broiled oysters, scallops, shrimp and scrod will keep a small army happy.
For great views of Boston’s waterfront, try making a reservation for your charter bus group at Rowes Wharf Sea Grille. If you happen to visit during the summer, try and grab a seat on the always crowded terrace and enjoy Chef Daniel Bruce’s creations al fresco. The menu is creatively designed to bring out the best of the flavors in the seafood, using less common ingredients. An example would be the oysters with saffron mignonette or the golden buttermilk fried Ipswich belly clams. Wines on Rowes Wharf list are personally hand picked by the Chef, and are meant to perfectly complement your meal. Many come back to ask for the 2 pound Maine lobster, and miso-glazed, sesame-crusted seared Scottish salmon served with a baby bok choy stir-fry.
Take a charter bus over the river to Cambridge, and drop by Jasper White’s Summer Shack. Dedicated to seafood done in the traditional New England style, your charter bus driver won’t miss the giant statue of a fisherman decorating the front door. The atmosphere here is casual, and the picnic table style seating arrangements are particularly well suited to charter bus groups. The menu is comfortingly traditional, with some surprises like cod cakes and bacon wrapped monkfish. Most of the fish dishes are prepared over a wood grill, allowing the delicate smoked flavor of the seafood to come through.

Did you know this about Boston?

Boston is a place that’s full of surprises and interesting places to visit. Get there and around with Bus Charter Boston for the best travel experience you’ll ever enjoy. Here’s some interesting bits of trivia about Boston that might just make your party bus tour, mini bus rental vacation or charter bus travel tour just a wee bit more interesting and worth your time.
Going out and not sure what the weather is like? Then look over to the 60-story John Hancock Tower. The colored lights on top of the old building show solid blue when it’s clear; flash blue when clouds are due; solid red when there’s rain ahead and flashing red when it’s snowing. (Flashing red during summer means the Red Sox game is rained out).
If you’d like to visit the only place in the world where a boat can sail under a train passing under a car driving under an airplane, then visit the Boston University Bridge on Commonwealth Avenue in the charter bus or party bus vehicle. If you’re on the Massachusetts Turnpike, the signs reading "x miles to Boston" refer to the distance from that point to the golden dome of the State House.
The Boston Public Library is one of the best-stocked libraries in the country, if not the world as it houses more than 14,000,000 volumes (Library of Congress houses 29,550,000 volumes, whilst Harvard University has more than 15,000,000 volumes. It is this very fact that left some charter bus, party bus and mini bus boggled.
Meanwhile, the largest art theft in U.S. history occurred in Boston on March 18, 1990, when two thieves posing as police officers stole 12 paintings, collectively worth $100 million from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.
Boston’s Emerald Necklace, designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, is a six-mile stretch of green parkland that includes the Boston Common, Public Garden, Franklin Park, Jamaica Pond, the Arboretum, Commonwealth Avenue Mall, Back Bay Fens, Riverway and Olmstead Park.
They can all be easily assessed by a convenient charter bus, party bus, mini bus or coach charter.

Rainbow Riverfest

The LGBT Coalition of Western Massachusetts offers a number of services to the LGBT community by utilizing community outreach programs, suicide prevention hotline, innovative advocacy and many more. It is mentioned on their site that they hope to “heighten awareness of LGBT issues while paying special attention to the needs of our diverse population.”
Although their work is a noble one, it is neither cheap nor free. Here comes the Rainbow Riverfest – a two day festival that will help raise fund for the LGBT Coalition.
What to expect
The festival will kick off on September 21 with a screening of Wish Me Away, starring Chely Wright, at The Academy of Music. The Holyoke Canoe Club will play host on September 22 with three main sections – Main Stage, Zen Zone Tent and Youth Tent – with gates opening at 11am. If you are heading over in a group, we hope to hear from you so that we can provide you with our top class bus charter Boston rental packages.
The Youth Tent will feature zumba, spoken word and urban line dancing workshops, as well as Q&A sessions with two of the festival’s musicians. You can also find out more about suicide prevention or simply bask in body painting and/or the graffiti art wall.
The Zen Zone Tent is just as it is named as it features activities that are designed to help you relax. Saunter over to the tent when you are tired from the Youth Tent or if you simply want to take a break from the music festivities. There are numerous workshops that you can participate in including qi gong, acupuncture, reiki and many more. Or you could simply stroll over at any time to receive any of the healing activities to center your energy, like a massage or more.
The Main Stage is undeniably the main attraction of the festival where music will be played until dusk! Hosted by Boston Pride’s Keri Aulita, the stage will kick off with a “blend of 80s pop rock and ballads” by Dedicated to Delilah. We are sure you are going to enjoy the visit more with a bus charter.
Boston - The Performers
Here are a pick of the featured performers at the Main Stage:
A transgender singer/songwriter, Will Shishmanian is currently studying at Ithaca College. He performs with Erin Snedector, a cellist, frequently in Ithaca, New York. If you think the surname sounds familiar, you probably did hear it before. Will previously released an iTunes album The Right Words for the Wrong People under the band name, Maria Shiamanian and the Boys.
Sassy, powerful and energetic are just some words that decribe Sister Funk’s performance. The 2011 Women’s Hall of Fame inductees promises to deliver with the same panache at the festival. They are LGBT and Women’s festivals pros, having performed for 10 years. Oh, and if you loved The L Word, you probably caught them as they were performed live on one of its episodes.
Finally, you probably saw her on America’s Got Talent or The Glee Project and thought she was Justin Bieber. With similar hair, looks and style you can be forgiven if you made the mistake. Many of our bus charter Boston regular customers say that Dani Shay will be making a name for herself though despite the similarities. Her powerful yet alluring voice belies her androgynous appearance. Her original songs will evoke emotions in you that will make you question yourself.
For Everyone
The Rainbow Riverfest’s main aim is to raise funds for the LGBT Coalition and has many sponsors that will be present at the Holyoke Canoe Club festival. Some of them are Clarion Hotel, Henna Love, Baystate Health, to name a few.
Visitors of all ages are welcomed at the festival and if you are coming from out of town, you can always give us a call for a quote for a bus charter, party bus or mini bus rental. 1-800-304-1993.
